Run to Hills for Up Hill Running…
Thursday, January 22nd, 2009…and stay away from the treadmill if at all possible.
Now do not get me wrong, treadmills are great, especially when mother nature throws you a big, fat, crappy bunch of weather. However, if you need a REAL hill workout, then run to the hills. Do your up hill running on a real incline and not on a plastic belt that has been elevated by a machine.
Run the Hills Fatty!
Monday, January 19th, 2009It seems all I do anymore is run the hills. Thats right, run the hills. No I am not in the Blue Ridge Mountains or Denver Colorado. Okinawa Japan has it’s own set of unique challenges, especially hills. Some of them quite challenging, especially for a fat runner.
So I continue to run the hills, burn fat and get into shape. The scenary is great and easy on the eyes as well. It almost makes you forget that the hills are there. The flowers, trees and other odd sights make the run entertaining. The smells can also be very unique. The smell of small homes cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner entice the taste buds and long for the run to be over so my big fat butt can have some food of my own.
Fat Burning Hill Running Workouts Requested
Monday, January 5th, 2009Lately I have been running some hilly routes. In fact, I don’t have much choice. The new place where I live is nothing but hills. So, if life gives you lemons, make lemonade…right? Well, that is what I am doing. I am on a hill running binge and trying to come up with several workouts using hills.
If you can come across any, other than those on runnerworld.com, I would love to have you post about them.
Fat Runners Should Love Running Hills
Friday, January 2nd, 2009Yes, I said it! But wait one second before you leave. Running hills is a blast and can be very fun (I see you rolling your eyes). Anyway, it is a great alternative to intense interval training and builds strength in the legs.
Running hills can also be a good way to work on that posture and arm swing, expecially the arm swing. Check out this post about how running hills stink.
