By admin | September 1, 2008

In order to reduce belly fat running is one of the best methods. Obesity is one of the largest health problems today. Obesity is defined as having a Body Mass Index(BMI), which is calculated by dividing the weight of that person by the squared (raised to the exponent of 2) height of that person,  of 30 or more. A person is tagged overweight if the BMI is between 25 and 30. Obesity is a form of extreme fatness. To reduce obesity and belly fat running is recommended by most doctors.

Running for about 30 minutes everyday is considered to be enough as form of exercise. In addition to exercising, one also needs to control one’s diet in order to successfully reduce obesity without going in for expensive surgical methods such as bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgery is recommended for extreme cases. Otherwise, for reducing belly fat running for about 30 minutes daily and having less fatty foods is an excellent method. Consult a doctor or a nutritionist when you plan to go in for a diet in order to reduce obesity. Carbohydrates are usually to be taken in low quantities. Liquor (especially drinks such as beer) also causes a lot of fat. Cutting down on such drinks is also an essential part of controlling obesity.

In addition to having a proper diet without fatty foods, to reduce belly fat running is essential. One must also ensure that one does not overrun oneself and be exhausted so that one is unable to carry out other activities properly throughout the rest of the day. When one starts out exercising, one should not try to run for 30 minutes on the first day itself. One must gradually build up to a regime where one can run for 30 minutes. One must run for a lesser period of time initially and then as one’s stamina increases, increase the running time. Also, it is not necessary to run at full speed. Running at a moderate speed for 30 minutes (gradually after several days) is quite enough. So, in order to reduce belly fat running and eating properly are the two most important things.

The health problems associated with obesity are osteoarthiritis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, lack of sleep and fatigue, excessive sweating and panting, etc. Muscles in motion use up energy which in turn is produced from fat and glycogen. In reducing belly fat running involves the movement of the muscles and hence uses up fat and glycogen.

While running, choose places such as parks or roads where there is not much traffic. Be sure to follow road safety rules while running on the road. Also, it is better to run on a soft surface (such as grass) than on a hard surface (such as concrete or tarmac) as a hard surface causes damage to the ankles and foot bones. However, if one runs on roads, wearing comfortable sneakers or sports shoes with thick soles is good enough to prevent any damage to the bones. For reducing belly fat running is one of the best options.
