Terrible Tempo Run

By admin | November 7, 2009

Today’s workout was a make up for the tempo run I missed on Thursday. Not sure what was going on, but my body was just terrible today. My legs felt like lead, my lungs seemed like they couldn’t getenough air, it was bad all around.

Total workout time was 45 minutes. Did the usual warmup, but it took about 7 minutes to get up to tempo heart rate (86-92% MHR). Started out at 6 mph and increased speed every 15 seconds by .1 unti lreaching tempo pace. Maintained tempo pace for 21 minutes, then backed down and started my cooldown for the last 15+ minutes of the run.

Once I hit my tempo pace, I just tried to maintain the heart rate. Sometimes I had to slow down, sometimes I had to speed up.

I ended the run with a 10 minute cooldown
