The Lucky Few: Fat Runners, Us Lucky Few
Wednesday, December 24th, 2008What people of smaller size do not seem to understand, at times, is that running is not always about the competition or the speed. For some of us, it really is about the love of the sport. For some, it is about health and weight loss. For some it is nothing more than a means to burn fat.
Us few, us very lucky few, who really enjoy the sport and not just participating in a competition for trophies or medals. Us lucky few who are proud of also being a fan (possibly even fanatical) at events. We watch the Hawaii Ironman, the Boston Marathon and New York with amazement.
Running Fat Gets Personal
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008For those of us who fight the battle of the bulge as we get older, life can become a little disappointing. If you are like me, you may have been athletic most of your life, but circumstances and life itself has changed the equation a little. For me it was good home cooking and two back surgeries, the last resulting in an artificial disc implant at L5-S1, along with a bought with Graves Disease.
