Bag of Butt Run

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Yes, this mornings short 20 minute run had me feeling like a bag of butt. Two months off has really hurt. I did do 50 pullups this morning, but not all at once of course. I just hope it doesn’t take long for my body to get adjusted to running again or this will be a very long slow road.

Later today, I will hit the elliptical trainer. Half of the problem is that I gained bout 20 pounds over the last two months…bad, bad, bad!!! So I think I just need to do some weight loss and base building, so long slow workouts for a while.

Making a pact at the start of your training promising to motivate one another during each run will lead to persistency and ensuring you both encourage one another when you do not want to go. It is proven that having a training partner will make runners last in the longer term.

Obesity And A Poor Diet Can Hurt In More Ways Than One
By David Maillie

Regardless which school of thought you choose to believe in, obesity causes undue stress on the body from the circulatory system to the skeletal system. If left unchecked, obesity will cause weakness, breakdown, cardiac arrest and death.

How Do I Get Rid Of Belly Fat?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dean_Iggo]Dean Iggo

One of the most common questions fitness professionals are asked these days is “How do I get rid of belly fat?” You may have seen the commercials on tv, claiming to be able to get rid of stubborn belly fat with a miracle diet pill. In all actuality, this diet pill alone is not enough to tone your midsection and lose that fat.

Running 101 – How To Ease Into Running, From A Former Fat Girl’s Perspective
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lisa_Buschlen]Lisa Buschlen

I’ve always been more of the “sofa athlete” than actual athlete, but beginning in my mid-30’s, I realized that not only had I retained all of my high school fat, but over the years, those fat cells had made many friends, and they were all beginning to congregate in the most unappealing places.

Whatever meager metabolic magic that had worked to keep me toggling between a size 8 and 10 throughout my 20’s, had apparently felt a little “crowded” by all the new fat cells, so it moved elsewhere, and left no forwarding address.
